Bosch HCBG18 Blue Granite Hammer Drill Bit Carbide Tip 1/2 x 10 x 12 Review

I have purchased at least 8 of these bits. Over the past 3 years I have been working on a huge project (retaining wall) at my lake house. I have drilled perhaps 500 eight inch deep holes into reinforced concrete lintels with these bits. The biggest problem is when I hit rebar - as the bits will wear.The lintels are very dense and contain good sized stones so drill time varries.The bits will cut through light concrete(blocks and bricks) like butter.
I have found a local hardware store that sharpens them for $3.50 - some of the bits have been sharpened twice. The carbide head on these is nice and large and will allow multiple sharpenings - you won't get that from cheaper bits. I bought all mine at Lowe's at about $17 so the price here is very good if you were to buy multiple bits to save on shipping.
